Some of Prévin’s compositions are called classical, but that shouldn’t scare anyone aged 13 or more.
The historians have simply not found a better name for music that is not  primarily meant for everybody to get together and have a good time.

.

Previn conducted symphony in Houston, London, and elsewhere.
He was also a jazz pianist, and he worked for films like Borgy and Bess.

.

He wrote this love song for Sophie Anne Mutter when he was going to marry  her.  She has been a star violinist working for  famous conductors  ever since she started out at age 13.

When she was 13, Karajan invited her to play with the Berlin Philharmonic. One year later she played at the Salzburg Festival under Barenboim.

In 1980 she made her debut in the US playing in New York under Zubin Metha.

She was born in 1963.

.

André Previn is  from Russia, and was brought up in the US.
Sophie Anne Mutter is German.
