What´s the difference?

One is the faculty of mental re-construction.
The other is mental play with words, ideas, and people.

………………………………………………………

Fantasy leads towards magics.
Imagination creates hypothesis and science.
They are not similar, and as faculties they are often at war with each other.

………………………………………………………

Inventors, doctors, car mechanics, judges, lawyers, construction engineers, all have to have imagination.
Macbeth, Hamlet, Merchant of Venice are based on imagination.

Summernight´s Dream and Tempest  are a display of fantasy.
Shakespeare used both.

………………………………………………………

Where are my scissors?
To find the scissors
To find the thief
To find the source of the Nile you need imagination

To entertain and educate little children and even to inderstand their world you need fantasy.

It is a bad, but very common mistake to think that these faculties are the source of lies.
