Looking for the Meaning of Life ? July 3, 2009

It is a cobweb called “The Web of Life” and it is spun by “the spider of death”. There are all the animals and the trees, flowers, and fish. There is also a penguin and a stork, a cat and a bird, and there aren’t any people. That is either nice or worse, because in some schemes people are such minor factors that they don’t have to be included in the final calculus :
The eternal silence of infinite spaces frightens me. Blaise Pascal
Happiness is an ideal of the imagination, not of reason. Immanuel Kant
……………….. Life is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury
Signifying nothing.” — Shakespeare
All these creatures are caught in the web and so they are only there to feed the spider of Death. It’s a pessimistic view, surely.

Here is also the “Finding your True Self” drawing and “The Wise Man in the Mountains “. The mountains are in Tibet, and you can see a businessman’s helicopter landing beside the guru’s cave. The businessman is looking for advice.
And there is a stone age man with little hearts on his outfit. He is in a cave and they are teaching him cosmology.

The Kite : it could be the European Community, for they have a blue flag with yellow stars and they have recently had a problem with the Irish who rejected their treaty draft. But it is part of a larger drawing where a man on Earth is pulling a string attached to the moon and so it is about the meaning of life, too.
There is also a rather complete modern art gallery :
